May 1, 2008         Supper Club started
FRIENDS!  Yes, we have a great group of friends, and we decided to start what we call a "Supper Club".  This is where a couple or two single friends would prepare the WHOLE dinner for everyone in the group.  This would take place on a Friday night, and every couple would take their turn, and the others just show up.
There are 10 adults and  three children (not counting babies) in our club.

Mariella and Yaska hosted the first event.  We got to experience incredible Honduran style cooking.  It was so delicious!!  Damien and Cherish hosted the next one with  delectable Brazilian food.  Trace and I were next, and we prepared various seafood dishes.  Vanessa and Tabb brought out the Latin cousine that dazzled our taste buds.  Then Dora and Brock gave us a wonderful taste of Italy.  Now the cycle will start again.

We also have had a great opportunity through these dinners to get to know even more people.  The person who is hosting the meal usually also invites others that they know to join our club for that evening.  These pictures are from our very first gathering.

May 23, 2008         Mom comes for a visit
My mom did come for a visit.  She stayed for a week, and we had a wonderful time.  We beached, toured, ate and relaxed.
The Scenic 90 Diner for Breakfast was a first on the list of activities.  Going out for breakfast is one of my Mom's favorite activities.
The Beach of course is the main event when anyone comes to visit.  Here we spent a lot of time.  "Crabs"  is a restaurant right on Pensacola Beach.  Trace is enjoying his platter of raw oysters.
"The Tuscan Oven"  is definitely one of Trace's and my favorite place when we want pizza, or to just be around warm friendly people.  We love to sit at the pizza bar, and talk with Teddy the owner while he creates the masterpieces.  The pizzas go right into the wood burning oven in front of the bar.  Our masterpiece pizza creation pictured above has: grilled eggplant, portabellas, artichokes, black olives, precutto (sp?), and ricotta as the toppings.  FANTASTIC!!!
The Naval Air Museum was one of our tourist stops.  It really is a must see even if someone really isn't into planes.  It is amazing how they are all displayed, and really gives so much information about our history.  Plus it is FREE.
Taco was tired out too.
It was so nice to see my Mom finally take a vacation.  Then the following month look who visits ...

Beach, Beach, and more Beach!!
and WHY NOT!!!
This was Savannah's first time ever on an airplane, and also her first time at the ocean that she can remember.  So yes, it was exciting to watch her experience it all.  It was so great to see my sister Jaime and to have fun with her.
Day 1
Day one started immediately after getting off the plane.  Savannah even got to hold a fish.  Of course we let it go back into the water.

Day two we also headed out for more fun in the sun.  Jaime and Savannah both learned the art of using a boogie board to catch the waves.  I'm not sure what Savannah liked more the water or the sand.
FUN!  FUN!!  FUN!!!
Day 2
This picture is also introducing our new second mode of transportation.  This fantastic moped gets us around Pensacola very nice getting 70 miles to the gallon.  Then of course faithful lil coop is always with us too.
Day 3
More Beach!
Day 4
Day 4 started with a trip downtown, and then more beach.  Our friends Damien and Cherish also joined us.  They have a little boy Caleb who is 4 along with baby Jeniva.
The humor of the innocent mind...Savannah is now 6 and is at a 2ND grade reading level.  So when the plane flew over head the banner it carried read, "Wet T-shirt contest tonight at Flounders."  Savannah pointing at the plane, all excited says, "I can enter the contest!  I have a wet T-shirt!  It was funny.
Day 5
Day 5 was rainy, but we needed a break from the sun anways.  Taco enjoyed it, because we were all home.  Taco and Savannah really bonded and played together a lot.
The rain did let up towards late afternoon, and we all went to the beach including Taco.
Day 6
Day 6 we went on a 2 hour Dolphin cruise.
Day six ended like all the others with a good night sleep.  Day seven was their last day with the plane leaving at 4PM.  So definitely one more trip to the beach!
Day 7
     July 11, 2008         Trace's & Christine's      Birthday Celebration!
July 11th is Trace's actual birthday and July 20th is Christine's actual birthday, but since we have the same friends just one big celebration was perfect!  And what better place then our favorite the beach.  Trace loves to cook, and he is a fantastic cook.  It is sometimes difficult to go out to a restaurant, because many times we know he could of prepared it better at home.  ANYWAYS, Trace BBQ 120 chicken thighs, made baked beans, macaroni salad, chef salad, and I made corn and black bean salad and chocolate brownies.  Then the 5 gallons of Trace's homemade White Sangria!!  It was an incredible beach picnic.  It was alot of fun, and Yes it was alot of work.  BUT we learned a good lesson next year someone else is cooking!!
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2008!  GREAT FRIENDS!  GREAT FOOD! GREAT PLACE!  GREAT MEMORY!"
